Grades: 2nd
Facilitator's Name: Sylvia Ibarra
Community: Valley View
Activities
1. Market and sale the idea to the community and campus. As a district and community we are falling behind in the "technology game". Promote the Vision to our community via newsletters, promocional ads, Technology fair within the campuses.
2. Share the vision with each campus administrator along with the campus teachers, especially the lower grades. The lower grades are the foundation to the education. They need to get involved. Expose teachers to new technology and demonstrate how life, learning and engagement becomes so much easier with the use of technology.
3. Begin exposing students to basic technology, word processing, power point presentations, and streaming videos. Web browsing is great for students (be careful with internet access without a firewall) and research certain topics. The use of learning games always is a plus for the student. They need interaction with games to enable them to learn at a more efficient pace.
4. Start and online community among classes. Teacher interacts with students on off times via messaging on learner websites. Start a discussion board with students having the learner follow and post on a weekly basis and have the students access the online community from school, home or even the classroom.
